Headteacher's Welcome

A very warm welcome to St Joseph's RC Primary School. We are a very caring Roman Catholic school with exceptionally high academic standards. The school is situated in the heart of the beautiful Ribble Valley and is the oldest and the smallest Jesuit school in the country. In our latest, outstanding OFSTED report, the inspector noted, 'this is an outstanding school. Although it is very small, it has a big heart. It welcomes pupils from all backgrounds but promotes strong Catholic values. Pupils acquire a love of learning, excellent levels of personal development and outstanding levels of academic achievement.' St Joseph's is proud to be an Eco Green Flag school and a Fairtrade school.

Moving up day

Posted: 22nd Jun 2016

Please look on our Foundation class page for more pictures of next year's reception children enjoying a full day in school, meeting their "buddies" and sampling our tasty free lunches.

Pyjama Day

The school council members voted that children should have a day to "rest" after the year 6 SATS, so they chose a pyjama day. Every child came to school dressed for bed, and brought donations for St. Joseph's school funds

Fair Trade Family Breakfast and World Book Day

We  were pleased to welcome so many families to our Fair Trade Breakfast on Thursday, March 3rd. Home made muffins and hot cross buns, made with Fairtrade ingredients were on sale, along with a selection of hot and cold drinks. The breakfast coincided with World Book day, so an assortment of visitors arrived at school to sample the food!

Later in the day, a variety of World Book Day activities took place, with  the sharing and discussion of our favourite books, writing a whole school story, making book marks and a teddy bear's picnic for the foundation class.
